Hello World
Somehow, I seem to have forgotten about my blog. And for that, I apologize. How many people actually visit my site and read my blog is quite foreign to me, even with the installment of Google Analytics running in the background. I’m pretty sure I have the time to update this blog, but honestly, I’ve had no desire to in the past few months. I’ve been far removed from the hands of time as I march through the second half of this deployment (a condraticting statement?).
Anyways…I’ve developed a long list of things I’d like to do when I get home. Things that include things I’ve done in the past and things that I’d like to do for the first time. And I question why I have never done those things before in my life. Can you see the list? No. I’m still working on it because I simply cannot make up my mind. I can tell you that I plan on over-indulging in some of America’s finest fast food chains like In-n-Out and Bakers…and that Korean joint in San Berdoo that my wife and I dined at when we would make the drive into town to visit the familia.
I’ve seen a lot of good things happening with the people I love and care about since I’ve been away. A lot of doors of opportunity opening up making way for people to do the things they have always wanted to do. It’s a blessing to see others being blessed by the hand of God. It humbles me to hear and read about other people’s successes.
The seasons have definitely changed here in Kabul. A small dose of nostalgia has kicked in with the cool winds passing by. I swear, it feels like Riverside. If you’ve lived there or in the area during Autumn, then you know what I am talking about. I must say, I am fortunate to be from California with the great weather we have. Not to mention, our beautiful beaches and kick-ass In-n-Out. Did I mention that already?
Apparently this year has gone by pretty fast with Halloween coming up. Pretty soon it will be Christmas…another one away from home. But, it’ll be nice to see the costume that my wife bought for our daughter in action. It’s great to see a child’s first time experiencing all the things we enjoyed growing up. I’m looking forward to those pictures.
Well, I think I’m done blabbing…for now. Take care people.
